U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., called for action on gun violence while lambasting the National Rifle Association at an event here Sunday.

“Seventeen lives lost,” she told an overflow crowd at Wachusett Regional High School, referring to the recent shooting at another high school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, in Parkland, Florida.

“Parents that will never heal. A school that has been torn apart. … Every day in America, seven children or teenagers lose their lives to gun violence.
