Warren Statement on Women's Equality Day

SOMERVILLE, MA – U.S. Senate candidate and consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren today released the following statement on the 92nd anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which recognized the right to vote for women:

"Today we celebrate the hard work and success of the courageous women who stood up for what they believed in, worked together, and secured for every generation of women after them the right to have their voices heard and their votes counted.

"We celebrate this milestone recognizing that women's rights remain under attack. Voting remains a powerful way for women to make their voices heard by electing people they can count on to protect those rights, from access to birth control to the right to equal pay for equal work."
