New Radio Ad: Workers, Advocates Agree: Scott Brown Trying to Score Cheap Political Points

Somerville, MA – Once again, Scott Brown is twisting the truth and trying to mislead voters, using the pain and suffering of asbestos victims and their families to score political points for himself.

In a new radio ad, Elizabeth Warren for Massachusetts highlights comments from workers and advocates forced to address the illness and death from asbestos who think Scott Brown’s attacks on Elizabeth are “disgusting”, “completely dishonest” and “intentionally misleading”.

Audio is available here.  Transcript below.

Reporter 1:  Senator Scott Brown is going on the attack.

Reporter 2:  Risking his nice guy image

Announcer:  Now Scott Brown is attacking Elizabeth Warren for her work on an asbestos lawsuit.  Asbestos workers and his advocates know he’s wrong.  Listen to what they told reporters:

Advocate for asbestos workers:  It’s a completely dishonest, misleading and I would say intentionally misleading ploy by Senator Brown and it’s really shameful.

Worker 1:  My father was an asbestos worker. I’ve lived and died my family from asbestos.

Worker 2:   To have Scott Brown trying to score cheap political points on this is quite frankly disgusting to me, to mischaracterize Elizabeth Warren’s record.

Announcer:  Elizabeth Warren made clear where she stands:

Elizabeth Warren:  I worked with Sen. Kennedy for 15 years in this field.  I've been out there working for asbestos victims including going to the United States Supreme Court to try to protect a half a billion dollar judgment for them.

Announcer:  Elizabeth Warren. When everybody else backs down, she stands up for people.

Warren:  I’m Elizabeth Warren, candidate for Senate and I approve this message.

Announcer:  Paid for by Elizabeth for MA.
