Methuen Mayor Zanni, Former Mayors Manzi and Pollard Endorse Elizabeth Warren

METHUEN, MA – Methuen Mayor Stephen N. Zanni and former mayors Bill Manzi and Sharon Pollard today endorsed consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren, saying she will be a strong advocate in the United States Senate for working families across the Commonwealth.

“I am proud to endorse Elizabeth Warren, who has been fighting for years to create a level playing field for working families and small businesses,” said Mayor Zanni. “Elizabeth has shown she will be a strong partner for Methuen and cities and towns across Massachusetts. She will stand up and support the investments in infrastructure and education that help our communities grow and thrive."

Mayor Zanni and former mayors Bill Manzi and Sharon Pollard endorsed Elizabeth during a visit to Methuen today, where she greeted local residents and heard from them about the issues important to families in the area.

“There is a lot at stake in this election, and Elizabeth offers a clear choice to the people of Massachusetts about the direction we’re headed as a country,” said Manzi. “She knows that we need to support cities and towns like Methuen, and she will be a fighter for our families and small businesses in Washington.”

“Elizabeth knows that right now Washington works for the big corporations and their lobbyists, not for working people here in Massachusetts,” said Pollard. “She has fought to make sure all our kids have opportunities to succeed, and she will be a strong voice for families in Methuen in the United States Senate. We need a Senator who will make sure we are investing in our communities instead of continuing to send billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies to big oil companies.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Mayor Zanni and former mayors Bill Manzi and Sharon Pollard, and thank them for their work on behalf of Methuen,” said Warren. “I am running for U.S. Senate so that the people of Methuen and the entire Commonwealth have a strong advocate to make sure they are treated fairly and have a real shot at success.  I look forward to working to help Methuen prosper in the years to come.”
