Elizabeth Warren Raises $8.6 Million

Somerville, MA – U.S. Senate candidate and consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren announced today that her campaign had raised more than $8.6 million in the second quarter of 2012.  This exceeded her first quarter fundraising by $1.7 million.

Once again, the campaign experienced a surge in grassroots donations, as 81% of the donations were $50 or less and more than half were $25 or less.  More than 40,500 residents of Massachusetts have contributed to her campaign.

“Elizabeth Warren has fought hard to create a level playing field for middle class families.  It is those men and women who are fueling this campaign,” said Mindy Myers, Campaign Manager.  “We still have a long way to go until November 6th, and Wall Street and other powerful interests are going to continue to send their millions to Scott Brown.  But with the power of working men and women in the Commonwealth behind us, we will continue to have the resources we need to compete and win this fall.”

Not only was the second quarter of 2012 Elizabeth’s most successful to date, June was her most successful single month since the start of the campaign.  She raised $3.1 million in June alone and now has $13.5 million cash on hand.
