Experienced Leader with Winning Record
BOSTON, MA -- Consumer Advocate Elizabeth Warren today announced her campaign will be managed by Mindy Myers, an experienced leader with a successful record in tough Senate races.
"Mindy’s leadership, political savvy and strong organizing skills, along with her experience winning tough races, makes her the perfect choice to lead this campaign," said Warren. "I am thrilled to have her as our campaign manager."
Myers has extensive experience in New England campaigns. Myers managed the winning 2010 U.S. Senate campaign of Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, who overcame his opponent’s record-breaking spending of more than $50 million. The Courant (Hartford, CT) called her "a young superstar in Democratic circles."
"I am honored to join Elizabeth’s fight for middle class families in Massachusetts and to help her take this fight to the U.S. Senate," said Myers.
Myers served in 2008 as New Hampshire State Director for the Obama campaign. In 2006, she managed Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s first campaign, helping him defeat a popular Republican incumbent in a race critical to Democratic control of the U.S. Senate. When Sen. Whitehouse won, she became his Chief of Staff and has served in that position ever since, taking leaves of absence in 2008 and 2010.
Myers also worked in the Legislative Affairs Office of President William J. Clinton, as Senior Advisor and Political Director for former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and as Deputy Director for Constituency Outreach for Al Gore's presidential campaign in 2000.
