Challenge Issued As Warren Scored Historic Victory at State Convention
SOMERVILLE, MA - Consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren said today that she is pleased Republican Scott Brown has accepted the debate challenge she issued Saturday as she earned a record-breaking convention vote to secure the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.
Warren issued the following on upcoming debates with Scott Brown:
"I am glad Scott Brown has accepted my challenge to debate. My campaign has received a number of requests from all over the commonwealth, and we will be reaching out to the Brown campaign to discuss debates."
"This election is about the future of the commonwealth and who stands on the side of the people of Massachusetts. Yesterday, I said that we need to have debates and I looked forward to the opportunity to talk about the real issues facing us. There are clear differences between Scott Brown and me: on economic opportunity, on accountability for Wall Street, on helping students attend college and on the future of our energy policy."
