Elizabeth met with community leaders, activists, and supporters at Merengue Restaurant for a Latinos for Elizabeth reception. Merengue owner Hector Piña welcomed the crowd and expressed his strong support for our Democratic U.S. Senate candidate.
Rocío Saenz, President of SEIU 615 spoke about the importance of participating in the election this November. Boston City Councilor Felix Arroyo introduced Elizabeth. State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez spoke about the important choice voters face in November. Elizabeth discussed her commitment to the community, support of the DREAM Act, and need for everyone to help with voter registration and turnout in the coming weeks.
This weekend Elizabeth celebrated the 39th Annual Festival Betances with the Villa Victoria community in Boston’s South End. On Friday evening, Warren supporters marched in the opening procession through Villa Victoria and the South End.
On Saturday, Elizabeth took part in the festivities on Plaza Betances, visiting with the participants and addressing the large crowd from the stage.
